Nice enough, but the discontinued shade of F&B Claydon Blue was nicer! Years back we painted my office in F&B Claydon Blue shade of paint, but as that shade is now discontinued we chose this shade of Stone Blue to do a repaint in the same room. The Stone blue colour is ok, but Claydon Blue (which was a darker tone of the same kind of colour) was much nicer. When we first started painting we had a bit of a heart attack moment as Stone Blue looks a very peculiar colour when it is wet, but it did dry exactly as per the colour chart, so that was ok. Use 2 coats & use the proper undercoat & then it will go on nice & evenly. Nice matt finish, attractive but just not quite as lovely as the Claydon Blue colour was. November 22, 2014
Stunning Used for a small, sunny upstairs bathroom. Rich and beautiful colour, warm and dramatic, definitely not too dark. Great choice, love it. October 30, 2014
Lovely colour but difficult to apply I painted our 1920s front door in this and the colour is lovely. Our house is red brick and it goes well with the walls. I've still yet to add door furniture but I think brass will go best with it. Unfortunately I found it very thin so needed 3 coats. I also found the first coat dried too quickly so when I tried to go over sections I was actually lifting off the paint with the brush which was very frustrating. After 3 coats I was impressed with the overall finish but annoyingly there have already been a couple of light knocks to the door which has resulted in some of the paint chipping off - not what I was expecting from a supposedly hard-wearing outdoor paint. It's paint, but it does what it says on the can! Bought paint to go on metal garage doors - after much searching for the ideal product (by me) and colour (my wife) we found Farrow & Ball - from choosing the paint on the web site, delivery through to application and looks everything was perfect. Sophisticated finish, but requires good preparation We used Stone Blue in our little study, as we wanted a colour which would give the room some character. This is a beautiful lively colour in bright light, but a little dull in the low light of a dull day. It has provided a lovely contrast between the light colour of our furniture (white gloss) and shows off the books, making this a feature in its own right. Would be great in a more grown-up boy's room. We used the dark tones undercoat to ensure the depth of finish colour. It was a real shock to see the walls in a very dark grey colour...I nearly changed my mind ! Glad I didn't, as the result is a bit special. F&B...a great British company too ! July 30, 2014
Striking colour Used Stone Blue with White Tie in my bathroom and am delighted with the results. A wonderful depth of colour, deep but not dark. Really happy with the results. I am an F&B addict now. June 14, 2014

Indigo, as imported in the 18th century, came in lumps and hence was often known as 'stone blue'. Dark Tones Undercoat.
