Changed my mind between order & it's receipt although I had used a sample pot & concluded I had the correct colour, between ordering & receiving the paint I had changed my mind. Eventually settled on stiffkey blue. Did not consider blues @ all until much later - 27 sample tins. Assume it is now too late to return the unopened tin?? November 17, 2014
Excellent coverage Really pleased with the product, love the colour. One of the easiest paints I have used October 20, 2014
Great coverage with excellent results Paint was easy to apply and gave an excellent finish with only two coats. July 14, 2014
Just Flows off the brush to give a flawless finish Went on like a dream, and has turned an old, tired piece of wood into a quirky, fun and quality looking piece of furniture. We couldn't have done it without you! June 24, 2014
Warm in a north facing bathroom About five years ago we used smoked trout on the bathroom walls above tongue and groove panelling painted cream - we are about to change the bathroom around but will stick with the colour scheme as we love it so much. Our house is 1930s and quite cottagey in style. Meanwhile we are in the process of painting the (also north facing) bedroom Joas White and that is looking great too. April 20, 2014
Super cover true color This product goes on well, giving a lovely finish, second purchase to warm up a neutral conservatory, first purchase being borrowed light which was super in the study and bedroom. April 15, 2014
Beautiful and Rich I've just painted my beamy living room walls in Smoked Trout and it's made the wood really sing and stand out, without the beams looking orange in comparison like other 'clay-coloured' paints can do. I recommend the mid-tones undercoat as F&B suggest, and then two coats of estate emulsion. Gorgeous depth of colour, without being too dark, and has made my living room really cosy; looks wonderful with the dusk sunlight on it! I am not sure where the previous reviewer got 'Cadbury' from - it is neither brown or purple. In my house it looks like a deep pinkish clay - very pretty with crisp white linen curtains. Highly recommended. April 14, 2014
It's not pinky I have used this on my fireplace wall. It needed three coats to get a consistent coverage. I thought it would be pinky/brown. It's not (or not on my wall). It reminds me of Cadbury's Dairy Milk. As a chocoholic, this is a very welcome colour! Looks good with All White paintwork and Tallow walls. I have a cream carpet and it looks good! March 28, 2012
