Shaded White

No. 201

Shaded White 4.6 5 25 25
Difficult colour for a bedroom I did my north facing bedroom in shaded white, with a Wimborne White ceiling and cornice and bright white woodwork. It's lovely, but getting a carpet and curtains that work with the colour is proving difficult. Might look best with a wooden floor, but this is not an option for me. Shaded white on my walls looks nothing like the colour on the shade card. Sometimes it is quite a definite green grey, as other reviews suggest, but sometimes it looks quite mushroom-y. Natural linens look brown against it. Laura Ashley "lichen" is a reasonable match, but they don't do a plain fabric in the colour. Their Chiltern fabric in the ready-made curtains is quite good with it, but a little dull. Am struggling so much with it, I'm reluctantly thinking of changing the wall colour, even though I like it a lot. July 5, 2014
Expensive mistake I used the estate eggshell which I have previously used in other colours with good results. Shaded white however is a nightmare to paint with. It I does not cover properly & takes at least 3 coats to get a non streaky result. Consequently I only just had enough paint to finish the job.. The colour is good but not worth the expense & hassle June 1, 2014
great paint, not so great price. This paint is great, lovely finish and easy to use. Would give 5 stars but think it is over priced. May 2, 2014
Looks excellent Farrow and ball paints generally give great results. April 28, 2014
wonderful depth of colour in a south-facing room It's a warm, calming colour, with the slightest green hue to what's more a soft greyish taupe - hard to describe and pics don't do it justice as there's a subtlety that can only come with viewing in different lights (it doesn't look washed out like my iPhone pic suggests). My worry was it would be too drab or dark in a naturally light room - not the case. It's a very easy colour to live with and a good foil against which to offset stronger colours. Used three coats to get the depth required but it was worth it. March 6, 2014
Depth of colour is just beautiful Painted our south facing bedroom in shaded white and it's gorgeous. It turns from grey to green to beige thoughout the day. The depth of colour is first class. Need to have a little experience in painting to get a professional finish, you can't just slop it on the walls like you can do with cheaper paint. I'm not a pro mind but still managed to get a flawless finish. Only problem now is I want to repaint our recently painted house in F&B. I'm truly converted. Teamed it with Wimborne white on woodwork. New favourite colour Used shaded white on woodwork in kitchen with pointing on the walls and and I am very pleased with this combination. I liked it do much I continued it through the utility hall. Am now considering using it for external paintwork. In these rooms it looks a beige/green/grey. It is changeable in daylight and artificial but I like all variations. February 17, 2014
Fab. Used inside and Out! Love Shaded White. Have painted all our outside brickwork in this colour - 17th century farmhouse with beams. Looks great, not at all green. However, chose it for our living room and it looks a different colour. Far more green although I do have Olive green cushions on sofas and have wallpapered our inglenook in Silvergate 878 which looks fantastic - although overall finish for room is a bit green I suppose, but that was more down to me not being bold enough to introduce another colour. Just darker than Off-White and lighter than Old White. This can also be used as a light 'drab' colour. White & Light Tones Undercoat.
