Metal Primer & Undercoat
Easy to use
Just says what it does on the tin. A simple product that allows coverage of metal. I used it on radiators that needed a lift and had a very noticable result.

Does what it needs to do
Bought this to act as an undercoat on a radiator, before painting with F&B paint, and it's done exactly what was needed.
Went on easily, easy to paint with, didn't drip.
Only negative point is that the tin was very difficult to open the 2nd time I used it. The design of the lid & the rim of the small sized tin now seem to be a bit flimsy, as does the metal that the tin is now made out of - I'm sure that F&B tins neveer used to be like this. As a result the lid got gummed up with the paint. Best thing to do is to probably decant the paint left over at the end of the job if you want to be able to use it a 2nd time, either that or the tin designers need to do a re-think on the tin/lid design for the small sized tins.

This primer is full bodied and gives really good coverage. We used it over black paint. One coat and two topcoats of hardwicke white gave really good coverage. One thing to be careful of is the instruction to apply thickly and not brush out to much which can lead to a slightly uneven finish. We used this on a steel faced composite door and it really looks great just like wood.

Great Coverage over Old Metal RSJ
As you would expect from Farrow & Ball, this is a high quality undercoat paint which is lovely to use and covered an old black RSJ brilliantly.

Superb quality primer for use on garden furniture
This is a high quality metal primer that I have used whilst preparing a set of metal garden furniture and a metal obelisk. It is easy to apply and provides a superb base for F&B's Exterior Eggshell. It is far superior to other metal primers available on the market.

Excellent product if a little expensive compared with its competition.

Painting cast iron gutters
F&B Metal Primer & Undercoat was very easy to use, was recoatable within 4 hours and enabled me to apply the required two coats in a day. It gave a good thick coating and hopefully should provide protection for many years to come.
I have found it frustrating that none of my local Brewers and Homebases' had this commonly used basic product in stock. My gutter painting project has required one website order #+£4.95 postage# and two journey's from Winchester to Wimborne.
