This is the perfect dark grey. Painted our bathroom in this. Eggshell on the wood paneling and modern emulsion on the walls. Forgot how good the quality of farrow and ball paint is and ordered way too much. Oh well, will just have to use in other areas. Hmm, maybe the kitchen. November 22, 2014
Fantastic colour This is darker than it looks in the pic but we loved it. So far, we've painted just one small wall in a hall with it (rest of hall is in Pavilion Grey which looks amazingly good) and it looks really amazing. I would like to be brave and paint a bigger area. The combination has transformed the hall from its 1980s boring bungalow look to more of an 'art gallery' feel, modern and interesting. The colour is so moreish and deep and stylish. Just wonderful. The hall leads to a bathroom, which is currently bright white (you need sunglasses to go in!) and we're going to paint the walls in the bathroom in a paler grey, Dimpsy, the new colour, which I hope will offset all the bright white tiles, and will be using Blue Ground to paint the tongue and groove panel on the side of the bath. I'm hoping it will all work together. December 31, 2013
Beautiful colour Still getting used to water based paint, it doesn't flow or brush out in the same way as oil based paint. Definitely needs two coats. I might try F & B's brushes next time. I painted some french furniture and I think the final result was excellent. First I used a wax remover, then I rubbed down with fine sandpaper and applied a water based grey primer/undercoat from another manufacturer. Then I applied two top coats of dead flat Plummett and rubbed down between coats. The undercoat flowed and covered the old pine colour perfectly but the F & B top coat paint didn't behave that way. I found it quite difficult to apply without leaving brush marks. It seemed there was not quite enough pigment in the paint and it didn't really cover that well. This was a bit surprising and I've not had that problem with their oil based paints. However, as you can see from the picture, the final result was stunning. I finished off with some beeswax so although the paint itself was dead flat I created a wonderful low sheen with the wax. Perfect! September 12, 2013
The MOST gorgeous colour! I love this colour so much - it's in our kitchen against white brick tiles and white cabinets which sets it off just beautifully. I was toying with this colour and Down Pipe for a while, but I'm so happy I chose Plummett in the end as Down Pipe would have been a little dark. First time using Modern Emulsion and great finish too! Very happy, heavily pregnant woman! September 4, 2013
A stylish and warm colour Absolutely adore this colour - wasn't as dark as I feared, and really looks warm and stylish. Had lots of extremely positive comments from family and friends. Made the mistake of using paint pads at first, which made it streak! Please avoid those and use a good quality roller - makes all the difference! So glad I went for this colour - I did try Manor House Grey but found this to be a bit too light for my taste. Plummett is the perfect in between shade - not too light and not too dark. Couldn't rate it highly enough - I adore it! August 14, 2013
Beautiful, restful colour. Used this on the wood panelling in our bathroom, teaming it with "borrowed light" for the plasterwork. It gives a calming restful, and surprisingly light quality to the room. The quality as usual with farrow and ball, is just brilliant. Makes me with for a bigger house to decorate so I can try more colours! August 3, 2013
beautiful colour and very nice to work with I used this paint in my kitchen, it goes brilliantly with my glossy white cupboards. The walls were previously white, covered very nicely with two coats. Some say farrow and ball emulsion is quite thin, but I did not find this the case at all! Would definitely buy farrow and ball again! July 28, 2013
Top quality classy colour Well worth the money for this top quality paint with such brilliant and precise results. Everybody comments on the colour. June 30, 2013
