Pitch Blue

No. 220

* Samples available in Estate Emulsion only. Colours on screen may vary from actual paint.

Pitch Blue, with its small dose of black pigment has an almost purple feel to it and is extremely lively in south facing rooms, especially when contrasted with All White or Charlotte's Locks. However it looks more sober and rich when used in areas deprived of light and is perfect for use in rooms that are usually lit by candles. Dark Tones Undercoat.

Love it! In fairness I read a review from someone who painted this in a small bathroom. - I too hated the white tiles in our downstairs loo. so, it sounded ideal. What a revelation. Everyone asks if the tiles are new, (they are not) and the overall effect was so good, we also painted our small entrance hall in pitch blue. It has 4 doors painted in All White Eggshell and we are delighted. I am now trying to persuade my sister to use Pitch Blue in her large victorian entrance hall and staircase. I am sure it would look amazing. 01 May 2015
Excellent colour, superb to use, great coverage A really lovely paint that goes a long way covers superbly and gives a great result 06 February 2015
F&B paint gives a very good finish but five coats to cover is a bit ridiculous! Farrow and ball dark colours In My experience take twice as many coats to cover light colours as an equivalent in dulux etc. 03 December 2014
Just wonderful! After buying about 4000 tester pots (we were going to have grey!) to repaint our small bathroom, we chose Wevet for one wall and went mad by choosing Pitch Blue for the other. (There are two walls hideously tiled in white, one on the long bath side wall and one on the sink/window wall. I'm definitely not a fan of 'feature' walls and normally avoid them, but at the last minute decided to go with Wevet on the remaining long wall and Pitch Blue on the remaining short wall with the door in it (it doesn't photograph well or I'd have uploaded a picture). Well, both colours look fab but the star of the show is the Pitch Blue. It looks absolutely fantastic. It has made the white tiles, which I hated, look like a class act and the contrast with the Wevet is perfect too. The blue is the kind you want to eat and keep looking at. It's not at all cold in our view. A really cosy, warm feeling, yet crisp, classy, and giving a really 'clean' finish with the white. It feels a very versatile colour to me and I think it would be great in a bedroom or on a ceiling in a bedroom even and would look gorgeous on all four walls in a cosy dining room, perfect by candlelight, or as a dreaded feature wall in a sitting room. Far from closing the room in (being a dark colour), it has made the bathroom look bigger contrasted with the white. It's gloriously deep. It's now my favourite F&B colour, followed by Cabbage White and Plummet, then Shaded White. It would look perfect in a 'minimalist' or modern flat that's otherwise white! We love the Wevet too - it's the perfect white for us as it's not a super-bright white, yet is a very white white, very matt, if anything the tiniest tiniest hint of greyish blue but hardly discernable. We used Modern Emulsion of Wevet on the wooden tongue and groove bath panel and it looks very smart indeed. It's striking, but not 'in your face'. 27 November 2014
Brilliant colour As always the quality was excellent and F&B certainly have the best range of colours 14 August 2014
Magical Fantastic colour. Exceeded my expectations. Would be even better on a wall that didn't get any sun. I have only used it to do two feature walls alongside Parma Grey. A whole room would be spectacular. 07 July 2014
Gorgeous colour Needs 2/3 coats before it dries perfectly solid. Worth the effort though as the result is a stunning flat Matt lagoon like colour, with warmth 04 June 2014
Beautiful Blue The first coat was stripe-y and thin, the second coat remedied the trouble. This is a deep, rich blue: I love the color and still hope to use it someplace in our home. But it was too dark for the areas we tested. 07 March 2014
