Pale Hound

No. 71

* Samples available in Estate Emulsion only. Colours on screen may vary from actual paint.

Pale Hound appears to be a little green, especially in north facing rooms, if you compare it to the more creamy Ringwold Ground. It is particularly useful in well lit spaces where it appears to be a delicate aged pale yellow, and in garden rooms where its underlying green feel connects it to the exterior. Mid Tones Undercoat.

good colour for down stairs shower and loo. I have never used modern emulsion before but coverage did not seem quite as good as estate emulsion. The finished room looked excellent and has been complemented on. Hope it is washable as I do not want to do it again as paint was a little expensive. So only time will tell if paint was cost effective. 27 September 2014
Great paint! F & B never disappoints. Used the casein distemper in our old cottage which matched in well with the estate emulsion. 18 May 2014
Excellent quality paint, but disappointed with final colour We have used Farrow and Ball paint in every room of our house and have always been impressed with the colours and quality. However, we have just used Pale Hound in our kitchen, and are disappointed with the final colour. We tested the colour on the walls and on card - moving it around to different areas of the room, and looking at it in different lights, and thought it was the right choice. Now that the walls are finished the colour looks very green - almost lime green, it only appears as a very pale yellow when in direct, bright sunlight. We will definitely use F&B again, but this colour is not for us - I would describe it as a pale green. We used modern emulsion - the quality and finish is excellent, but the colour... not so much. 06 May 2014
Excellent results Used pale hound in our dark kitchen. Great results, has lightened the room, love the colour. As usual superb coverage. I can always rely on Farrow and Ball for quality paint 02 August 2013
A lovely colour I have this colour on the walls of a large, north facing room with medium light and wide oak planks. It brings the oak to life. This is a lovely, delicate, pale colour with great subtlety and character. It does have a slightly pale avocado look to it but don't be put off by a suggestion of green. My home is period but the paint has actually a contemporary, modern feel to it so I guess it is adaptable to many situations. Very pretty and unusual colour. 16 May 2013
Lovely, lovely colour We have used F&B throughout our home and won't use any other brand. We used Pale Hound in our kitchen /dining room with Hague Blue wood work. It simply looks stunning. Throughout the day as the light changes so does the tone. In the mornings it appears warm pale yellow, changing through to very very pale green in the evening. All the changes are lovely. We recommend modern emulsion for family life!! 05 May 2013
lovely colour Used this in our lounge and it really is beautiful. 08 April 2013
subtle green We used pale hound in full gloss paint as an accent colour, and in our context, a dark hall, it reads more as a pale green than a yellow. It's subtle and lovely. 09 February 2013
