Oval Room Blue

No. 85

* Samples available in Estate Emulsion only. Colours on screen may vary from actual paint.

Oval Room Blue is the most blackened of our blues, giving it a timeless pared down feel. It sits perfectly with the very popular greys, so is ideal for use in contemporary houses to create depth and balance in either a hall or a darker, cosier TV room. Dark Tones Undercoat.

Amazing colour depth but need twice amount recommended This colour is gorgeous and is very deep. It appears as different colours in different lights - from blue tones in bright south facing daylight to deep green at night in lamplight. At times it seems grey in between! We had newly plastered walls so our decorator used a standard white emulsion as a base coat. This caused us to need twice the recommended amount of f&b but to be fair it was our mistake with the undercoat that caused this. The deep, chalky finish was worth it though and we are so happy with the end result. It was our first time using f&b and won't be our last! However, supply of f&b in our area (Cumbria) is very poor and there are very few stockists; actually none in South Cumbria which is shocking. Please fix this f&b! 15 May 2015
I am so impressed with the quality and the final result. What impressed me is its application and the way it has held up under wear. It's two weeks since it was painted so it's fully cured, there are no scuff marks, it looks brilliant. Many thanks, 07 May 2015
Only used sample pot I only used a sample pot to help make a decision for my den. The color is more green with some blue in it. A deep muted color. Went on nicely even with a cheap brush and covered well with 2 coats. I used Tallow in my dining room which is stunning rich and elegant so definitely am going with a farrow and ball paint for my den. For my den I decided on stone blue. Will report back when it is done 03 May 2015
Excellent Really happy with the paint. Used the estimator tool and bought just the right amount with a little leftover for touch-ups. Also used the dark tones undercoat which I would recommend. Overall a lovely paint which changes in tone and colour according to the light. 10 April 2015
A beautiful and authentic finish Once again I am completely happy with another shade from Farrow and Ball. I have renovated a number of period houses now and I always turn to Farrow and Ball to capture that perfect authentic, period look. I used Oval room blue in my master bedroom and hallway and it looks truly beautiful with my vintage accessories. I was worried the depth of colour would make the room feel smaller but it really doesn't. A lovely tone of colour. Highly recommended. 20 March 2015
Happy first time user This was our first time using a farrow and ball product. We were extremely satisfied with the quality, coverage, and color. We will use farrow and ball rather than big store brands which don't match up. 22 February 2015
Amazing colour The colour is exactly what we wanted and the eggshell finish is perfect. I would recommend it to everyone. 11 January 2015
SO pleased we chose it! We have a high , moulded ceiling and deep panelled skirtings, and wanted a rich bluey/grey/almost milky deep turquoise to match the tiles in the Victorian fireplace. After much deliberation, and thinking the entire walls painted in this colour would be too dark, we decided to 'go for it' with Oval Room Blue, and I am so glad we did. This colour is all we had hoped for. It is rich without being gloomy; it has lived up to all our hopes and will be a fantastic background to pictures and old wooden furniture. Perfect. Because there is no picture rail in this high room we went for Strong White ceiling and paintwork. The whole comes together well either in daylight or with subtle evening lights. We are delighted, and by the way, we have used French Grey in another room and are equally pleased with that. Can't wait to start the hallway!! 16 December 2014
