Off-Black like Off-White is one of the original Farrow & Ball colours – an uncomplicated name for a much used classic. It is much more flattering to adjacent colours than Pitch Black because it is so much softer in tone but has none of the underlying blue of Railings or Black Blue. Dark Tones Undercoat.

Excellent quality Great paint to work with, although a little overpriced a pleasure to work with. 10 April 2015
Brilliant to paint with fab colour I was un sure of the paint as some reviews did not give a good report but I found the paint great to work with. The colour was amazing and it dried quickly on application. I used this paint on pine cupboards and chose nearly black it looks fab, only time will tell if it does not scratch would highly recommend farrow and ball 17 March 2015
blackboard black Looks grey in the tin, but thankfully dried to exactly the right colour I was looking for. 25 February 2015
Very classy I have painted our coffee table in Off-Black as this was the best colour to match the white and black woven sofas. The result is a very elegant and classy table with a great hard wearing surface. 14 October 2014
Easy peasy. One application, lovely subtle colour, dried to the touch much quicker than I had anticipated, I haven't put it in a high footfall area but it certainly did the job and looks lovely. 13 October 2014
Transformed our front door Like many people I am a total fan of Farrow and Ball and both my houses, inside and out are painted in it. Have used Off Black before on masonry and love the effect, but had not used it in eggshell before. A friend, when she saw it, said it looked " rich. " Not sure if she meant the house looked like a rich person lived in it, or it was a rich tone? Have had many compliments this week, so I made a good choice in the end. 03 September 2014
Stylish Black We used this on one wall of our staircase to make a dramatic wall on which to hang lots of pictures and it looks great. We painted the other walls and ceiling in Wevet and that's a great combination, especially with brilliant white woodwork. It goes on looking jet black but dries to a slightly more muted recently cleaned chalkboard sort of a colour. As with all F&B paints it has great depth of colour and a lovely finish. The only downside is that it mhows up marks very easily, though that is more about the dark colour than anything wrong with the quality of the paint. 31 July 2014
Great finish, easy to apply I used the paint for cast iron radiators and for old cast iron bath and it was easy to apply to both, great covering, perfect consistency and overall great result even through I am an amateur with not much experience. For the bath tub I didn't even use the right primer, just black metal paint underneath and it still worked very well, leaving no brush marks. 10 May 2014
