Mizzle

No. 266

Mizzle 4.5 5 31 31
Review Really pleased with finished result. Looks lovely. July 7, 2014
An English Eau-de-Nil Just the colour I wanted, delivered with remarkable promptness. Bearing in mind that the overall cost was less than I would pay in local outlets, I would expect to order again directly from Farrow and Ball. This shade of subtle grey-green is perfect for a room where the primary activity is relaxing in the evening. The colour is also an excellent foil for the many black-and-white wood engravings which I will be hanging on the walls. June 5, 2014
From blue to green in a greyish sort of way. I just love Farrow and Balls colours. I have had Hay in the whole house and it has been amazing going from a fairly bright warm yellow to soft beige depending on time of day, weather conditions and position in the room. Now I'm shifting gear, saying goodbye to Hay and hello to Mizzle. Holly smoke, what colour is this Mizzle? I have read other avid painters reviews saying it's a definite green, other shouting; it's blue and some whispers, grey. I have painted a tester on the back of a wall paper sample and moved it around to check how it changes according how the light hits it. I then took the plunge and painted the rest of the sample pot directly on the walls and I can now conclude that I will be the proud owner of walls that is sometimes almost strong blue going to blue grey going to green grey. I swear that I can stand about 6 meters from the painted wall in front of me and it looks like a definite fairly strong blue walking towards the wall the colour changes to softer blue going in to green and end up as green grey. Unbelievable! My room goes from north-facing to south-facing with window only on the north and the south, no east or west windows. Perhaps that gives the extraordinary spectrum? If you are after a defnite blue or green that stays put, Mizzle don't seem to be the answer. On the other hand if you want to be free as the wind and embrace this west country evening mist and use it as an amazing back drop and not caring so much if it is blue or green greyish you might be heading for a beautiful friendship. Personally, I can't wait to get this beauty on the walls! Good luck! May 7, 2014
Really Pleased Bought this paint because it looked green to me. Opening the tin it looked more of a blue colour. Decided to go with it anyway. Couldnt be more happy with it. On a dull day my summerhouse looks green and as the sun shines it looks more blue or grey. I really love this about the colour. Whatever colour - it looks expensive and classy. Thrilled. May 7, 2014
Overpriced substandard and fragile We like the colour but it was difficult to apply and once on the wall. We have found that it's easy to damage/scratch and takes unkindly to water. April 20, 2014
A lovely colour but more of a soft green I had planned to use F&B's Blue Grey paint for our sunlounge but my husband thought it would be too dark so we went a shade lighter with Mizzle. This is a definite green but it is unusual as the colour changes in different lights - it does look more bluey grey sometimes, matching the tone of our grey blinds. I like it when this happens. This is a lovely colour and I would recommend to those wanting a soft green that blends well with bluey grey hues. It's perfect for our sunlounge, which is close to the garden. Goes well with the neighbouring sitting room neutral colour Cornforth White and the kitchen in Joa's White. Love Farrow and Ball paints full stop! March 24, 2014
A lovely, amazingly changeable colour We've only used a couple of sample pots so far but on the strength of these we will be using Mizzle in a bedroom and the living room. I also wanted to use it in our windowless hall but it seems like a completely different colour there, mostly green with none of the lovely blueish grey that appears when applied to an east-facing wall. More green than blue, but lovely nonetheless We took a while to find the right color for our staircase wall and decided on mizzle, which turned out to be a lot greener than advertised, so beware. If you want blue, this is not what you are looking for. We chose the interior floor paint finish to give it a stronger sheen, and we are very happy with the final result. Two coats went a long way. A soft blue grey reminiscent of a west country evening mist. The blue will become more intense when painted in a smaller room. Mid Tones Undercoat.
