Manor House Gray

No. 265

Manor House Gray is a definite grey which retains its colour in all lights especially when contrasted with All White. Cooler and more architectural in feel than Charleston Gray it is very popular in clean lined contemporary homes, often used alongside the more dramatic Down Pipe. Dark Tones Undercoat.

Lovely paint however this is far to dark then the colour block and picture After visiting our local F&B with the help of the assistant we selected this colour as on the colour block in was a softer colour to the other greys however now it's on the wall it's so much darker almost like Moles breath! We thought it was dark when we where painting it on but presumed it would dry lighter. Feel slightly annoyed as the tim was over £80 and it can't afford to re paint my whole lounge, stairs and hallway again. 02 February 2015

Fab new stairs! I used Manor House Grey floor paint on some dodgy pine stairs in our Georgian townhouse and it turned out brilliantly! My husband couldn't believe the finish, as I did cheat a bit by not sanding that well (!) and not using a primer or undercoat. It was so easy to use and a little goes a long way. I only had to do 2 coats for a fab finish! The colour came out a lot paler than i thought it would, but I like it a lot. I think if it was any darker, it would have looked too drab in our small hallway. Can't recommend this product enough, trying to find furniture to paint to use up the rest :) 28 October 2014
Disappointed with finish, too dark. I'm a big fan of F&B paints. I've used them for 10 years and have not bought another brand of paints during this time. I'm working on my 3rd house using F&B throughout. One of my favourites is Manor House Grey. I have used it as emulsion and as a estate eggshell, so I'm familiar with how it should turn out. We've recently bought a Georgian house with lime rendered plaster, so limewash was the natural choice. I have read that darker colours are more difficult to have an even finish, but after applying this product, I have failed to get a good result. I understand that limewash will have a different quality to emulsion, but my problem is that after much drying, Manor House Grey is 5 shades too dark. It has dried very patchy with 70% of it being as dark as Downpipe. I've spent a week on the room, and have decided to cut my loses and paint over it. I have bought 5 litres of Oval Room Blue for another room, but I won't be using it. 23 September 2014
Great finnish easy to use and hard wearing We have recently moved house and our very good quality pine furniture just did not go woth the style of the new house, so we thought we would have a go at sanding down and painting the five pieces of furniture ourselves, we are absolutley over the moon with the finnised product, we used the estate eggshell as it stated that it was hard wearing, and so far this has stood up to its claims. it took a bit of hard work but the results are well worth it. The paint is expensive, but not compared to buying a new suit of furniture and what we have now is unique. 08 July 2014
Real Pure Grey This is the most gorgeous grey. A "pure, clean" grey - what I mean is it is a very crisp grey colour with no muddy brown-ish tone which many have. It is almost battleship grey. Lovely, and crisp as a colour. Looks completely fabulous against white woodwork and a ceiling painted in Wevet, both in natural and artificial light. It beautifully sets off the crystal wall lights we have put against it. I would gladly use this colour in almost every room of the house and not tire of it. The only slight negative is that it is not quite as dark as we expected, but that is a very small niggle compared to our happiness with the shade. 11 June 2014
Grey not boring If your looking for a colour that is modern contemporary, then this is it. When applied on the walls the feel of the space has changed more grown up really pleased I picked this grey much warmer than I thought but not complaining really loving it. My only tip would be to ensure you get enough to do the space and to give the walls the recommended drying time as this does need two good coats. 21 May 2014
Quality product and finish. Near the end of a complete renovation of a Georgian house and all the completed rooms have been painted in various colours with F & B never been let down yet with the quality of the paint and the finish, you may pay a bit extra compared to the high street paints but well worth it just for peace of mind knowing your getting a long lasting quality product. 25 April 2014
