Interior Wood Primer & Undercoat
I used this product as the undercoat and primer on an oak veneered Ikea bookcase. Not the most promising of surfaces, but the primer coated it superbly - two coats covered it with no streaks or gaps. I was trying to avoid using Annie Sloane paints which I detest with a passion (although I know they do stick to anything) and using the F and B primer was an experiment. In the event, I liked the matt effect and colour so much (dark tones) that I bought top coat paint in a similar, but lighter, tone (Plummett) - Dead Flat. I also painted a ceramic lamp base - with a similarly fabulous result. Brilliant paint as ever.

Easy to use
A friend recommended using this before applying Estate Eggshell, I was keen to go straight for the colour but she was right. Very easy to apply, dries quickly and gave a good solid base to apply the colour on top of.

I have very recently begun 'up-cycling' old and cheap items of furniture bought off ebay to replace my MDF stuff without spending a fortune.
I find this primer so easy to use and it gives a fabulous finish. I have never had such sucess with painting and I put it all down to the quality of the paint and using the right undercoat.
It makes the whole project so easy I can't wait to find something else to paint!

Can make the shabbiest piece of wood look chic!
Fabulous stuff. Do a lot of painting and have tried on the leading brands and more but nothing compares to F & B.

Interior Wood Primer & Undercoat - Lovely to use
This is the first time I have used a primer as I wanted to have a professional finish this time rather than the slap dash approach I usually take. I used two coats and it was very easy to use, odour free and washed off the brush with water. I used this under Elephants Breath, Arsenic and Lime White and I found it to be a great base to use my colours on.

I was really impressed with this undercoat, no stinky eye watering smell, and the coverage was fantastic - I have finished the job and still have over 1/2 a tin left, very impressive.

I started to paint some fitted wardrobes using another undercoat but decided it wasn't giving the results I wanted so ordered farrow and ball undercoat to use under their eggshell paint. I should have bought this undercoat from the start as the finish result is so much better. It went on like a dream and only needed 2 coats and 2 coats off the eggshell finish and the end result is excellent. I wasted my money trying to save a few pounds on the cheaper product so will be buying farrow and ball from the off in future.

Using this undercoat made sure the finish was exactly what I wanted on my hall furniture. I'm still not convinced that water based paints are the way to go, but this was good quality, dried evenly and overall did a good job.
