House White

No. 2012

* Samples available in Estate Emulsion only. Colours on screen may vary from actual paint.

House White, with its very slight green undertone, has an almost citrus feel which creates a fresh but not necessarily soft feel. Don’t be fooled into thinking it has any of the perceived prettiness of a cream! It is best paired with All White when used on walls, or is a good woodwork colour when used with the stronger, fresher greens like Breakfast Room Green. Mid Tones Undercoat.

Warming and bright in a period cottage Chosen in a distemper finish to enhance the warmth and brightness of a 400 year old stone living room. This colour created a very welcoming golden hue and worked very well with traditional oak beams and brass colours/fittings. The distemper finish is a little tiring when applying to a large room with a brush (necessary to cover uneven stones) however coverage is good. 11 May 2015
This is a lovely off-white shade. I brought House White to use for painting our daughters doll's house.I also used the following sample pots- Orangery Blazer Yellowcake Babouche Olive Tanners Brown I always use Farrow and Ball's little sample pot's for painting small project's and I would defiantly recommend. You can't go wrong when putting the colours together they always seem to blend nicely with each other. 21 February 2015
Easy to use and goes a long way Cheaper products don't cover so well or go so far. 05 December 2014
Best paint I've ever used This is the second batch of this paint I've purchased and have been delighted with the results on both occasions. Application is easy and the finish is excellent. Will always use Farrow & Ball paint from now onwards. 23 November 2014
Good for a white with a touch of light yellow This was slightly more citrussy than I had imagined but still a lovely colour. 05 October 2014
Mixed feelings... We used this colour for the surrounds on our front door and for the window ledges on the front of the house, to try and match some of the sand coloured brick work as much as possible. When it is a sunny day and the front of the house is facing the light, it looks a very nice off white with a hint of yellow. However, on a dull day or when the light has passed over the house I don’t think the colour is one of F & B's best. Of course it is a matter of personal opinion, but I think the colour looks a bit dated - a bit too much of a dirty yellow and a bit like the dreaded Magnolia! - and I wish we had perhaps gone for Lime White or Off White instead. All in all I would ensure if using this colour you buy a sample pot and try it out in all light conditions, as there is quite a difference between the colour in good strong light and low light. A positive though was that the finish is great, so I would say if you are just looking to paint a small area of masonry, you will be fine with Estate Eggshell, which means you don’t have to buy a 5l tin of masonry paint! 26 June 2014
Superb paint This is a lovely paint with a superb finish - we have a period property and I love the yellowed finish. We used casein distemper to allow the lime plaster walls to breathe. Hopefully it will wear well too. Fantastic company to deal with too - nothing too much trouble. 23 April 2014
Usual F & B quality Beautiful paint to use and consistent finish. A pleasure to work with and from previous use of this paint we know it is colour fast and wears well. Amazed how quickly the order was despatched and delivered. Thank you.l 09 March 2014
