Dimpse

No. 277

* Samples available in Estate Emulsion only. Colours on screen may vary from actual paint.

Dimpse is named after the quaint west-country dialect for the colour of twilight and is one of the cooler neutrals sitting between Pavilion Gray and Blackened. It works particularly well in very modern architectural spaces but is softer in tone than the very cool Blackened. Great on kitchen units in combination with a Down Pipe island. White & Light Tones Undercoat.

All time favourite colour I have my entire hallway painted in Dimpse (downstairs, upstairs and stairway) and I absolutely love it. Upstairs gets a lot of sunlight from south facing windows and downstairs is more north facing and darker but in every location this paint looks fabulous. I have it with white ceiling and woodwork which gives a lovely fresh contrast. It is definitely light grey, no beige (which is what I was looking for, I'm not a fan of the beige that seems to creep into most colours# and is clean and crisp and bright and fresh. I have oak floors and lots of fresh flowers in my foyer and I get more comments from visitors to my house on the paint colour here than i would ever have thought possible. I have young kids so have to go for modern emulsion which is a lot easier to care for than the estate emulsion #not quite as beautiful matte finish but still good). Massively recommend this paint. 23 April 2015
lovely item looks stunning in hallway, with lotus wallpaper. Real wow factor. 03 February 2015
Lovely pale grey We bought this emulsion to paint our north facing bedroom, with Wimborne White on the woodwork. Really happy with the results as we didn't want anything too dark. Dimpse is a lovely pale grey, which has a slightly bluish hint. We decorated the room next door with Blackened and they look pretty similar side by side, except blackened has definite lilac tones (which I was not pleased about, but its too late now!) and Dimpse is more blue-ey grey. Love Dimpse - definitely get a sample pot though :) 29 January 2015
Great color! Great color! Looks wonderful in our bath with carrara marble and black cabinetry. 04 January 2015
Certainly not a grey, but a pale blue! Brought the sample, tested on the wall, it looked like a lovely subtle grey. Now it's all over the walls it doesn't look grey at all, be warned it's more like "borrowed light" from the F&B range than the a grey. It is a very pale duck egg blue. It is certainly not a grey! Will have to repaint hallways, sitting room & bedroom! It's far more like a retro pale 80's nursery blue, than a chic 2014 grey! 21 December 2014
belle déclinaison de blanc ce n'est ni un blanc ni un gris...une couleur qui donne du "clair" et du "pep's" par petites touches, associée au stiffkey blue et manor house grey, c'est tout simplement magnifique! 25 November 2014
Great colour used this on kitchen walls. The blue grey effect was just what it needed to compliment new granite work surfaces. 17 November 2014
Beautiful soft grey This was just the loviest soft, sugar almond grey I was looking for. Have been using F&B paints for many years and have used lots of the grey pallet before but Dimpse is one of their new colours and untested by me. Am very pleased with the results although I did have to give walls three coats as still quite patchy after the second coat and that was with a base coat too. 14 November 2014
