Peaceful and Warm Brassica and Calluna look great together. Good coverage. Peaceful warm colours - looks great with soft greens and turqoises. We paited book cases in brassica eggshell and were most impressed with the undercoat recommended and the eggshell finish. July 30, 2014
Best paint I've ever used This was the first F&B paint we'd used and we were not disappointed. We used the Calluna paint to redecorate our study and chose the colour without buying a tester as we roughly knew what colour we wanted. The reviews of others about this paint helped us in that decision about the colour. We ordered the paint online, it turned up within a day or two. This paint is really easy to apply by brush and roller and the finish is the best finish I've ever got from a paint. Two coats were needed and we are delighted with the colour. It does look different in differing light varying from a light grey to light lavender but it provides a soothing atmosphere. Whilst I was initially concerned about the cost compared to other high street type paints that cost is well worth it when you see the results. We are now planning to do our hall, stairs and landing in F&B paint. May 21, 2014
Fabulous Depth The coverage gives depth and complexity - not just grey! April 24, 2014
Brilliant Paint We thought long and hard before buying Farrow & Ball paint for our new bathroom. This was mainly due to price. In fact we did buy some cheaper paint and then returned it, unopened, before going for the F&B. Colourwise, we wanted something different, so decided on Brassica estate eggshell for the wooden cladding and Calluna modern emulsion for the walls and ceiling. We were worried Brassica might be a tad dark, but both colours look great with our new white bathroom furniture and a white-tiled vinyl floor. The Calluna is an absolutely stunning colour, as it seems to change its hue with each different light source. We used two coats of F&B primer / undercoat (dark tones) on the bare timber cladding, followed by two coats of Brassica eggshell. All the F&B paints were a delight to use, including washing out the brushes afterwards in water. A pity the preparation stage is not as easy! You don’t decorate very often, so why not do it properly? Make sure you use a decent brush too. January 15, 2014
Much more mauve than I was hoping for Call me an idiot but due to time and logistical restrictions I didn't manage to try a test pot of this colour on our new bedroom walls, and went only by the colour card and the website (did take the latter with a tiny pinch of salt). I was expecting a slightly mauvy grey but the colour only looks like this in certain areas at certain times of day, or with the electric light on fairly low; otherwise the mauve content is much higher than I was expecting, and one friend even asked whether it was 'mauve or blue'?! In some lights the mauve content looks almost luminous. I think a lot of this is simply due to the light levels in our new bedroom, but I would recommend that you a) use a tester pot (well, yes, obviously), and b) paint the colour on parts of every different wall of the room too see how it changes in different lights at different times of the day. We have Farrow and Ball paint in virtually every other part of our house (apart from some ceilings) and this is the first time I've been disappointed - but it's also the first time I've not used test pots! Lesson learnt! December 7, 2013
