Cabbage White

No. 269

Cabbage White is the named after the most delicate of butterflies, so is a very fitting name for this equally delicate colour. With its slight blue hue it is perfect for rooms that go up into the eaves, where you want to use just one colour on both walls and ceiling. This colour really comes in to its own when contrasted with All White. White & Light Tones Undercoat.

Beautiful and fresh I have used this colour in my spare bedroom and it has turned out perfectly. It is pale, fresh and bright, with the usual chalky mat finish I love from these paints. 19 March 2015
Amazingly clear & pure color -- love! After a lot of deliberating, I chose this color for my east-facing home office. I wanted a light, airy, pure color that would be subtle and would inspire me to focus on my work. This color is exactly what I wanted it to be. I love it. It's subtle and gorgeous. It's very, very light, clear bluish green. Also, just a note on F&B in general. I've used Behr for years and years. I've tried many more expensive paints, and I always go back to Behr because the fancy paints are worse than good basic Behr at three times the cost. However, when I read about F&B, I just had to try it, and I'm a total convert even though it costs twice as much as some of the other higher end paints. I have never painted with anything like it. It goes on silky smooth and has almost no odor (it smells faintly of clay) so it's a pleasure to use. I'm sensitive to odor and chemicals, so I love using this paint. The end result is amazing -- it doesn't look like plastic the way other paints do. It looks chalky, matte and beautiful. I think I will always use F&B from now on. Great stuff, and worth the price. 07 September 2014
Beautiful compliment to Down Pipe I love the chalky finish of this paint and the way it changes colour with the different light. I chose it to soften the drama of Down Pipe in my kitchen and it looks fab, if I do say so myself..... 21 July 2014
Really nice tone Used this product in our north facing small sitting room - it had the desired effect, really brightened and opened the room up. The color was just as expected, I would describe it as a really pale baby blue. I was worried that using a blue shades would make the room feel cold, but not at all, it's fresh and comforting. 08 July 2014
Gentle warmth This is a beautiful, soft and delicate blue, that does not look cold at all, if anything it gives off a warmth. Painted the bedroom and we love it. 28 June 2014
A little bluer than expected The paint is gorgeous and we hadn't found any other company that gave us the options of painting our floor with an unusual colour. It has a nice finish too and so far appears to wear ok. My only qualm is that the paint is more of a pale blue than green, even with the primer used first- Not quite the pale green we were hoping for. Still lovely and subtle enough for a whole floor though! 22 May 2014
Lovely start to the day! I have used Cabbage White Estate Emulsion in my east-facing bathroom and west-facing spare room. I am absolutely delighted with the results. This is the softest, warmest and most subtle shade of pale blue that I can imagine, and on a sunny morning my bathroom looks fresh and is bathed in a gentle and very calming light. There is nothing clinical about this shade, which can often be the case with blue. My spare room has varnished maple furniture which is quite orangey in colour, and in this room the blue walls contrast well with the furniture. I found some vintage Winter Lily curtains which are green, blue, grey and white, and they bring the whole room together beautifully. Very pleased and would highly recommend this colour as a warm background to other more vibrant accessories in a room. 19 April 2014
