No. 227

* Samples available in Estate Emulsion only. Colours on screen may vary from actual paint.

Archive is a stronger, warmer version of Joa’s White. Perceived by many as a classic taupe, it has a slightly cleaner feel than Oxford Stone and creates a glowing rich room. This colour is ideal for use in cold underlit rooms if you want to create a cosy environment but can be surprisingly orange in well lit spaces. Mid Tones Undercoat.

Excellent value and can be used on different surfaces We have gone through practically 12 litres of this and have used it on walls and woodwork. Initially bought for walls in our dining room and the modern emulsion for the bathroom walls, tried it on some pine panelled ceilings too that had gone orange and it has worked a treat. Tends to be a lighter colour on wood which is just what we wanted and looks more cream. We have now used it on 3 ceilings and it has brightened our bedroom and 2 stairways. Just perfect! Now going to order it in the eggshell for wood to put on the windows too. 22 May 2015
Very good paint, a pleasure to apply. Very good paint, a pleasure to apply. Arrived in time well packed. My wall now looks great. 15 December 2014
Product pretty unbeatable (and I'm a painter & decorator's daughter) I am an artist residing in a work/live space. 'Archive' is perhaps a somewhat unusual colour for a gallery wall but it has worked extraordinarily well for my recent studio show. Almost every visitor commented on how well the drawings looked against it and how sympathetically it related to the open-plan of the building. The quality of the paint is superb and I appreciated having three finishes to 'play' with: Estate Emulsion, Eggshell and Dead Flat. I find the water-based paints do dry out quite quickly (pros and cons), and brushes (which I prefer to use) take much longer to clean properly. Otherwise, wonderful! 09 December 2014
Smooth & even coverage We have been converted to Farrow & Ball paint since using to transform our solid oak fitted kitchen to a very contempary cream. With the help of F&B paint 2 New worktops and new handles we have a very stylish kitchen and a complete new look. We now use F&B in every room with Archive, slipper satin, and joa's white being our favourite. 17 November 2014
Good A lovely warm coffee cream shade - definitely not white 11 September 2014
It's a wonderfully warm color that changes throughout the day. The color is warm and soothing in my north facing living room. Others have commented on the color changing throughout the day. My painter, using F&B for the first time, liked the application. I'd recommend F&B anytime. 26 August 2014
Wonderful We love the colour and the FB colours we have used throughout our home. Modern emulsion wipes down well, holds its colour and gives excellent coverage. 08 July 2014
Beautiful colour and finish - but very difficult to maintain I have painted the majority of my house in Archive Estate. I love the colour and I love the look of the finish. But I repeatedly get the painter back to touch up because the slightest brush up against a wall, a wipe with a soft dry cloth, etc. causes marks. Its painful that you see this in certain light. I wish I would have used originally the Modern Emulsion - maybe I would be happier now. I have repeatedly had to buy new paint for the touch-ups, and its very expensive and only available in 4l cans. 27 June 2014
